It’s the 1950s. All eyes are focused on a shiny, optimistic vision of our technologic future. In this gentle adventure set in post-WWII America, determined young Victoria Sharp pursues her passion for science toward her ultimate dream: inventing the world’s first flying car. The 16-page origin story comic Victoria Sharp: Girl Inventor introduces young readers to Victoria as she experiments with bizarre technologies despite obstacles both hilarious and heartbreaking.

Originally published in the Milwaukee Business Journal for the Flying Car innovation festival, Victoria Sharp: Girl Inventor is a partnership with City Beast Studio and the first in a series of comics aimed at 5- to 10-year-old girls. In each, Victoria, her cat Rocket and the flying car travel time to visit real-life scientists of various eras. More episodes to come!
