A Patchwork of Advocacy

Autism puzzle pieces - header

As a woman with high-functioning autism, I am often asked to share my experiences with other adults on the spectrum, parents of children on the spectrum, or those who are curious about my experience. Like many girls who learn early to “fly under the radar,” I did not identify my autistic traits until I was 27 years old. Even then, it has taken me four years to begin to live comfortably with the notion of autism, speak openly about it, and even (dare I say?) begin to celebrate it as a strength.

If you’d like to read more, I suggest starting with these previous blog posts. In the future, I plan to explore autism more here at my blog.

My favorite blogger on the autism spectrum is Cynthia Kim at Musings of an Aspie. Go back and read every post she’s written. You won’t regret it!

Also feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions you may have.
