One of my goals this year is to get reacquainted with watercolors. Over the past weeks, I’ve discovered a few things:
- Under painting matters.
- Less paint is often more.
- A fine, light touch is essential.
- On the background, work from light to dark.
I’m excited to grow my skills with watercolor and ink this year, so today I’m launching a little series of watercolors called Faerie Frolics, which (as the name suggests) is all about catching faeries in the act of mischief.
Today’s installment is Faerie Frolic No. 1: Sticky Situations. I used watercolor, Arches cold pressed watercolor paper (pre-stretched) and sepia tone Higgins ink.
